Tribute & Message From The Family

Donald Ray McLeod passed away peacefully at his home on February 3, 2017. He was born in Fayetteville, NC to the late Lawrence H. and Annie Mae McLeod.

He was a SMSgt. and a veteran of the Vietnam War in the US Air Force, serving 20 years as a jet engine mechanic before retiring in 1973. A second career of 17 years as a maintenance facilitator for Blue Cross of Wilmington, retiring in 1994. Donald was a lifetime Masonic member of the Cherry Blossom Lodge in Japan, as well as a Shriner with Nur Temple in New Castle.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Charlotte Trump of Ardentown: his sister, Sandy Butler of NC: his children, Donald R. Jr. (Diane) of Newark, and Tina M. Boracki (Robert) of Claymont: his grandchildren, Dr. James W. Hull, Jr. (Molly) of Glen Ellyn, IL and Emma J. Hull of Wilmington: He was preceded in death by his siblings, Lawrence Jr. and Anita Allen. He was loved by many, and will be missed by all.

A Viewing will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at the Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.

The family suggests sending memorial contributions to the Delaware Humane Association, 701 A St., Wilmington, DE 19801.

A classmate from 1st grade thru 12 grade and especially during High school at Stedman we were into everything together. Many memories. My sympathy to Donnies wonderful family,he will be missed.
