Love Emblem

Barbara Hicks Hart was born in Oneonta, New York on September 10th, 1942. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and loved ones and entered Heaven's gates on November 29th, 2016.

She worked in the restaurant business all of her life and was the consummate professional. She carried your breakfast, lunch, and dinner with the utmost grace and never left your coffee cups empty or dirty dishes linger.

After she retired, she very much enjoyed crocheting and playing online Pogo and Facebook games. She was always helping others cultivate their farms.

She was also dedicated to her faith in Jesus and God almighty and knew she had a seat reserved just for her next to them in heaven.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Peter J. Hicks.

Barbara will forever be remembered by her two devoted brothers and their spouses, Henry and Sylvia Estle, Jack and Judy Calcaterra; beloved son, Michael J Hicks; loving daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and Kenneth Merritt; longtime friend she called daughter and son-in-law, Edith and William Donnelly; treasured grandchildren, Rachel R. Hicks, Ashley N. Hill, Kayla J. Merritt, William F. Donnelly and Michael M. Donnelly.

A Funeral Service will be held Monday evening, December 5, 2016 at 7pm at Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703, where friends may visit with the family beginning at 5pm. Burial will be Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at 11:30am in Pine Hill Cemetery, Shickshinny, PA.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to "Compassionate Care Hospice Foundation" at St. Francis, 701 N. Clayton Street, Wilmington, DE 19805.
