Barry W. Dahllof, Sr. of Ellendale, DE passed away at Heartland Hospice House on Sunday, May 8, 2016, at the age of 71. Though his body had started to and finally failed him, his heart, mind and sense of humor never did.

Barry graduated from Chester High School in Chester, PA. He worked as a quality control supervisor and chemist for Irving Textile Products for 34 years.

Barry is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Betty L. Dahllof of Ellendale, DE ; his son, Barry W. Dahllof, Jr. and wife, Melody O. Dahllof, and their children, Noah Dahllof, Gabriella Dahllof and Caleb Dahllof; his daughter, Kathy L. Taylor and husband, Don Taylor, and son, Jason Taylor; and his son, Stephen G. Dahllof and longtime girlfriend Jen Trout; and his sister, Jonell DeHaven and husband, Robert DeHaven. Barry was a friend to all and was fortunate enough to have too many friends to name here.

Barry will be best known for his generosity and commitment to youth sports. Together, Barry and Betty enjoyed watching their grandchildren participate in sports and they enjoyed watching Phillies games. Barry also had a love for fishing and sharing that pastime with his sons and grandsons.

A viewing will be held Wednesday, May 11, 2016 from 6pm – 8pm at Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703, where a funeral service will be held Thursday morning, May 12, 2016 at 10am. Burial will follow in Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, PA.
