Clinton Mark Charles, age 62, of Claymont, DE passed away at home on October 7, 2016. He will truly be missed by everyone that knew and came into contact with him. Clint was a very private person but was always willing to help anyone in need. He had a heart as big as the moon and a hug for everyone.

Clinton was very close to his family. When his father passed away in 1975, he went to school, got a job, and helped to support his mother until her death in 1985. He always looked forward to his yearly summer vacations with his family at the beach. Clint was very caring with his family and always helped them whenever he could.

Clinton graduated from Claymont High School in 1971 and the Wilmington School of Radiologic Technology in 1978. He worked as a RadiologicTechnologist II on the midnight shift starting at the Wilmington Division Hospital and later transferring to Christiana in 1986. Clint just recently retired from Christiana Care Health System after 38 years as a dedicated professional in the field of radiology and he really enjoyed lunches with his retiree group.

He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed going down to spring training camp in Clearwater, Florida with the Phillies. He loved watching football (especially the Eagles), playing Fancy Football and watching Wimbledon tennis matches. He also enjoyed the many hours he spent traveling and researching his family ancestry where he could connect with newly found and far away relatives.

He is survived by his sisters, Barbara Charles Temple, Sandy Charles, Cindy Charles Kennel and her husband, Mark Kennel; as well as his nieces, Jessyca Temple Clark and her husband, Jason Clark, Rachel Kennel; and his nephew, Billy Kennel. He also leaves behind 4 grandnieces, 1 grandnephew and his very close friends, Mr. and Mrs. Wally Martine and their family.

A viewing will be held Thursday evening, October 13, 2016 from 6pm – 8pm at Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703. Friends may also visit with the family, Friday afternoon, October 14, 2016 at Gracelawn Memorial Park Chapel, 2220 N. DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE 19720 from 1pm – 2pm where a Funeral Service will begin at 2pm. Interment will be in the adjoining memorial park.
