Love Emblem

John T. "Jack" Malone, age 66, passed away on Friday, November 18 at St. Francis Compassionate Care surrounded by his wife and family.

Jack was born in Wilmington, Delaware, and was a life-long resident of Claymont, Delaware. After attending Holy Rosary and being a member of the first graduating class of Claymont High School, Jack met the love of his life and wife of 42 years, Carol Rubright. Together they built a family rooted in laughter and love. He is survived by his wife, Carol Rubright Malone; his daughter, Kristin Burton, her husband Richard; son, David Malone and wife Megan. Jack has two beautiful granddaughters, Meghan Burton and Zoey Malone.

Laughter filled every room Jack entered. Jack loved the Eagles, the Phillies, and technology. He had a successful career in telecommunications where his coworkers became family. The only thing that exceeded his love of high-tech gadgets was the love he had for his wife Carol. He was adored by his many in-laws, cousins, aunts, and uncles. He loved people and always had a quick one-liner that would break the ice with anybody. He never lost that knack to make people laugh, even when he was very ill in the hospital.

Jack is predeceased by mother, Marie Loughrey Malone and brother, William (Bill) Malone. He will be greatly missed by many people whose lives he touched.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE, on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 12:00 Noon. Friends may visit with the family at the church beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private.
