Michael A. Romanowski, age 60, of Middletown, DE, formerly of New Castle, DE, passed away Friday, June 10, 2016 at Christiana Hospital.

Michael attended Point of Hope, New Castle, DE through the week, which he enjoyed immensely. He participated in Special Olympics in his younger years, where he won numerous Gold Medals for swimming.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley M. and Ida A. Romanowski; as well as his two brothers, Stanley E. and Joseph T. He is survived by his sister, Theresa F. Romanowski, who he lived with for the past 15 years; several cousins; as well as his aunt, Sharon McIntyre of West Virginia.

A special thank you to George Calder, who assisted with his caregiving on a daily basis for several years.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 2pm at Gracelawn Memorial Park Chapel, 2220 N. DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE 19720, where friends may visit with the family beginning at 1pm. Burial will be in the adjoining memorial park.
