Mildred Elizabeth Cole, age 94, of New Castle, DE passed away peacefully at home on January 15, 2017. She was born in fall of 1922 in New Castle, DE.

Mildred was the daughter of Mildred Mannering Strawbridge and Robert Edwin Strawbridge. Mildred graduated from William Penn High School in 1940. Mildred worked at Wilmington Dry Goods before becoming a happy homemaker. Mildred was a life member of Asbury United Methodist Church. Mildred always looked on the bright side of life and showered sunshine in everyone else's life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 43 years, Earl S. Cole, brother, Robert Strawbridge and sister, Betty Johnston. Mildred is survived by her niece, Beverly Collier, great-nephew, Paul Collier (Maria and Luke). She is survived by many nieces, nephews and in-laws that were very dear to her heart. Mildred was eternally grateful to everyone who took part in her care and took time out of their life to visit her.

A Graveside Service will be held for family and friends on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 11:00am at Silverbrook Cemetery, 3300 Lancaster Pike, Wilmington, DE 19805.
